PayPal hits a milestone with over 100 million active users around the world

“Consumers are increasingly abandoning traditional payment methods, such as cash or checks, and are turning toward a more modern approach to payment: being able to pay anytime, anywhere,” have been the words of Mr. Thompson. This tendency started over a decade ago and has been at the heart of PayPal’s business project. He said, “we believe that, by 2015, electronic cash will be accepted everywhere in the United States, be it at stores around the corner or at Wal-Mart.”

 

Scott Thompson, president of PayPal, has announced this important milestone in his blog. He regards this as an opportunity to look forward and not back. Good news: we will soon have no need to carry a wallet.
